Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Deck Metrics (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Deck Metrics mobile application (the “App”) and the associated website located at deckmetrics.app (together, the “Service”).
1. Data We Collect
Deck Metrics is designed primarily as an offline assistant for your strategy sessions. The App focuses on analyzing your in-game decisions and performance metrics. To provide this functionality, we may process the following categories of data.
- Session data you enter – notes about specific hands or rounds, tags, labels, and any custom text you provide for your own analysis.
- In-app statistics – aggregated numbers such as win/loss counts, decision outcomes, and performance indicators calculated from the data you enter.
- Device information – basic, non-identifying information provided by your device, such as operating system version, language, and general device model.
- Support communication – information you choose to share when contacting us via email or through the support form on the site.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the core functionality of the App, including displaying your historical statistics and dashboards.
- To help you analyze your strategy decisions and monitor your long-term performance trends.
- To respond to your requests and support inquiries sent to [email protected].
- To improve the App’s stability, usability, and feature set over time.
3. Local Storage and Backups
By default, your session information and analytics are stored locally on your device. Depending on your iOS settings and preferences, your device or iCloud backup may include App data as part of a full device backup. We do not control how Apple stores or manages your personal iCloud backups.
4. Analytics and Tracking
The Service is built with a focus on minimal tracking. If we integrate privacy‑respecting analytics in the future, they will be used only in aggregated form to understand general usage patterns (for example, how often specific features are opened). We do not use this information to build marketing profiles or track individual players across other apps or websites.
5. No Third‑Party Advertising
Deck Metrics does not display third‑party advertisements and does not share identifiable user data with advertising networks or data brokers.
6. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your personal data may include:
- Contractual necessity – to provide the Service and its core features you request.
- Legitimate interests – to maintain and improve the App, keep it secure, and understand how it is used, provided your rights and interests do not override these purposes.
- Consent – when we explicitly ask for your permission for specific optional features, which you may withdraw at any time through your device settings or by contacting us.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with carefully selected service providers that help us operate the Service (for example, email or error‑logging providers), under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only on our instructions.
We may also disclose information if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
8. International Transfers
Depending on where you are located, your information may be processed outside of your country of residence. When we transfer personal data internationally, we take reasonable steps to help ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as it is necessary to provide the Service, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can delete your in‑app data at any time directly from your device using the options available in the App or your operating system settings.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your information. You may also have the right to object to certain processing or to request data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
11. Children’s Privacy
Deck Metrics is intended for adults engaged in card‑based strategy activities and is not directed at children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps to delete such information where required by law.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
